Sunny King is a director-producer of shorts and promos and founder of OAKMANFILM. Like most filmmakers, his first taste of the film industry manifested as a runner in a low budget feature film. The experience left a huge impression on him and led to making independent films of his own. He cites Fritz Lang, F.W Murnau and Kinji Fukasaku as influences
He gained critical acclaim with shortfilms, Unspoken which won Best LGBT shortfilm at the British Independent film festival 2013 and Best shortfilm at the Nollywood Movie Awards 2013. And his shortfilm , Prey, won Best Director and Best Actress at the Stormy Weather Film Festival 2017.
PREY, had a three day general release in the cinemas at Picturehouse Central, Hackney Picturehouse and Ritzy cinema in the summer of 2016. And his been featured on the BBC.
His latest film is a 5 minute segment for the Italy/UK co-production anthology horror feature film called PHOBIA.
It debuted at the AFM market 2017 and EFM market 2018.
