Finding acting auditions outside of LA or NY

I live in the Las Vegas, NV area. I am wondering where I can find listings for auditions in my area. I currently am going through a local agency, but the auditions and opportunities to act are few and far between lately. Does anybody know of good websites or other sources for actors to find postings for Las Vegas? I am not SAG/AFTRA yet.

D Marcus

Check Backstage.com, lvauditions.com, projectcasting.com, vegasauditions.com and even craigslist.

Kent Allen

Thank you. I have seen some of them before. Have you been booked from any of these sites? Is it pretty standard to pay into a membership now?

D Marcus

Unfortunately it is now standard to pay for membership. Agents get paid when they book a client, these sites make their money posting audition notices. They get paid even if the actor doesn't get an audition. What does your agency say about these membership sites?

Kent Allen

the agency that I am with does not charge to have someone posted on their site. It is a "don't call us, we'll call you" type of business. Not a true talent/acting agency compared to agencies in LA.

Acting outside of NY & LA

I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I'm sure it has, but there are so many discussions here, so I thought I'd start a new thread. I live in Miami and have done my fair share of short films, student films, indie tv, commercials, etc. I've heard over and over that if you want to be a serious ac...

Hi Katrina. There is a lot of film and tv work in Atlanta these days. Is that a possible source of work without having to relocate? I face the same dilemma in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Katrina Morris

Hi Kevin, Yeah. A lot of my friends have actually moved there and there are more comedies there, which is my focus. I need to take the plunge and get an agent based out of Atlanta. Funny thing is, it'...

Exactly Kent! I feel like I've had more access to the roles that do come here. I've gotten auditions I never would have made it into in one of the larger markets. I'm going to start looking for more o...

Kent, LA has Central Casting, which has hundreds of background work per month and if you're union you can make decent money, the down side is background, no lines, no challenge. I hate it.

Ahoy maties! It is talk like a pirate day!

My name is Kent. I am in the Las Vegas NV area. I am currently working on Macbeth for Shakespeare in the Classroom. I have played as. A businessman, an office worker, and a client for a hair growth product. I am on the lookout for the next version of me. Happy pirating to ye all!

Hi. I am Justin. I once yelled “orca” in an ocean full of seals. I also once yelled “mooove it” to a cow that was chasing a chicken that was crossing the road, and then found out why that chicken was...

Hi, Kent! I enjoyed your post. Let me know how the hair growth product works out?!

I have done a few commercials this year. Mercedes Benz CES show, and an infomercial for Velform Hair Gro Max. I will be volunteering for Shakespeare in the Classroom in Las Vegas coming this school year where I will play Macbeth.
