About Kenneth

Kenneth Segura Knoll is a native New Mexican whose first exposure to moviemaking was being an extra on the independent film “Easy Rider”. He was part of Governor Cargo’s first film training program and worked on the ABC Movie of the Week “Sweet Hostage” with Martin Sheen and Linda Blair. He completed his degree in film and television directing from California State University, Sacramento and built and managed Delta Studios for 12-years. With over 500 productions under his belt, he has experience in all aspects of production. In 1995, he founded the Sacramento Festival of Cinema and was honored this year at the 20-year celebration. Upon returning home to New Mexico, he formed Turquoise Trail Releasing. He is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company overseeing capital raising, project selection, contract negotiations, foreign sales and domestic distribution. Last summer he served as Consulting Producer of Finance and Distribution and Music Supervisor on the film “Sunbelt Express”. Knoll currently is the Creator, Producer, Writer, and Director of the Television Sitcom “Almost Americans”. His other projects in development include, "The Taos Massacres", a mini-series set in the late 1800's centered on the transition from Mexican Territory to USA State, “The Fight in the Meadows” a film set in Las Vegas New Mexico in the early 1900’s centered on the Jack Johnson fight and "Tomahawk" a contemporary Native American Television series. In addition to his work in Film, Television, and Music he has created a New Mexico “centric” Funding portal (InvestNewMexico.us) to help raise funding for projects.

100 Miles to Lordsburg (2015)
Film (short) by Karen Borger (Drama) Producer In 1961, Jack and Martha, a young, African-American couple, are traveling across the country for a new job opportunity in California. Jack, a Korean War Vet, and Monique, his very-pregnant wife, need to stop in New Mexico as the hot weather and rough roads are causing Martha great distress. They reference a travel guide "The Negro Motorist Green Book" that tells them the motels that allow African-Americans to stay as well as the gas stations that will sell them gas. They are turned away from the first motel in Las Cruces, NM and must drive 100 miles to the next town that will house them, Lordsburg, NM. On the way, their car breaks down and no one will stop to help them. Until an old, World War II veteran, Tom, who drives for a garage, pulls over. The two men ultimately bond over their war experiences and Tom, at the risk of losing his job, agrees to help the young couple by giving them parts to repair their car. Written by Stephanie Bell
