Megan Brotherton is a Los Angeles based director and writer who is known for her ability to work fluidly with improvisors and comedians, while never losing site of story. She earned her MFA in Acting at the American Repertory Theatre at Harvard University, which included a 3-month residency at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. She writes and performs sketch and improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and directs shorts for Funny Or Die.
Megan's short films EVERYBODY DOES IT and BUTTERCUP have earned rave reviews and awards including Audience Choice, Best Comedy, and Best Narrative Short. BUTTERCUP was also selected as one of nine films to tour the US and Canada as part of LunaFest and one of five films selected to screen in Beijing.
Megan recently completed a PSA for Access Books as part of Women In Film's PSA Program, a program that selects two female directors to be mentored by executives from major commercial production houses in LA.
Megan's other work includes a pilot that she wrote and directed called LAST NIGHT, a short documentary about a Ugandan olympic athlete, seasons 1 & 2 of GOLDEN CALIFORNIA, and several online commercials. You can view some of Megan's comedy videos at: or .
