  • Subterranean Love

    Subterranean Love (2013)
Film (short) by Robert Haufrecht (Fantasy and Romance) Camera and Electrical Department Two lonely people, with personal baggage, on separate evenings out - on the same street in Greenwich Village, she with a friend, he alone, end up on the subway platform where an old Eastern European woman plays rueful accordion music (she becomes a muse/cupid). They get into the same subway car and from there surreptitiously observe each other and submerge themselves in romantic fantasies (black and white). They never speak and she, just before exiting the train, has one last 'fantasy kiss' on the train, ending their 'romance.' Haunting accordion music and subway imagery add a fine subtlety to the romance and mystery. Written by Anonymous

  • Dirt! The Movie

    Dirt! The Movie (2009)
Film by Gene Rosow (Documentary) Sound department A look at man's relationship with Dirt. Dirt and humans couldn't be closer. We started our journey together as stardust, swirled by cosmic forces into our galaxy, solar system, and planet. We are made of the same stuff. Four billion years of evolution created dirt as the living source of all life on Earth including humans. Dirt has given us food, shelter, fuel, medicine, ceramics, flowers, cosmetics and color --everything needed for our survival. For most of the last ten thousand years we humans understood our intimate bond with dirt and the rest of nature. We took care of the soils that took care of us. But, over time, we lost that connection. Our species became greedy and careless. We still depend on dirt, but now we abuse and ignore it. We are destroying our last natural resource with our agriculture, our mining, and our paving over the planet for cities. We turned dirt into something "dirty." In doing so, we transform the skin of the earth into a hellish and dangerous landscape ... Written by Anonymous

For their stay, they must learn to live as a tribe, although eventually, it is everyone for themselves. They compete in challenges for "luxuries" (a barbecue, a phone call home, etc.) and immunity. Every three days, the losers of the latter challenges must face tribal council, where they will account for their actions by voting one person off of the island. At the end of day 39, there will be only one survivor left who will leave the island with one million dollars. Based on the Swedish game show, "Operation Robinson." Written by ZeroG1
