My name is Silas, and I'm a filmmaker. Over the past eight years i've worked to aid others in the production of video content for non-profits, documentaries, corporate videos, films and music videos. Now it's time for me to begin producing my own content! Over the coming eight months I will be producing 5 short films. These films will cover various genres and themes, some of which will speak on very relevant issues in our society. And one of those films could be one that you helped write...BUT MORE ON THAT LATER! Any support you give to this campaign will go specifically towards the acquisition of very the very basic set of equipment necessary to complete this ambitious task. Creating film comes at great expense, but it is far less expensive to create content when you own the camera! You don't have to pay any rental fees for example. You can simply pick up your camera and shoot! At the bottom of this description will be a list of the equipment necessary for this project. This is just the beginning of the process! Scripts are completed or being written, but this project can only truly begin as soon as there is financial support. As soon as the campaign reaches it's first $1000, the 8 month countdown will begin! To me, film is more than just entertainment, its my platform to effect positive change. Its a way to articulate my voice! This idea is so dear to me that I also want to extend that opportunity to you HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD! 4 of the five films will be written by me, but the 5th film will be inspired by you! Those who give will have the opportunity to have your voice heard in film. NO, you don't need to have any writing experience- I get the hard work, you get the fun! Is there a cause that's dear to you? Tell me, and tell me why its something you care deeply about! For every 50 dollars that you give, i'll accept your submission for a theme or concept. Top givers will have their submission selected, and will be credited as writers in the opening or closing titles of the film! There will be many other rewards, and extras for all supporters!
