In one of my scripts, a character has to read a definition from a book. How should I approach this?
I was tols to never use quotation marks. So, what´s the alternative?

Hello,
Does anyone have a suggestion for a proofreading software? I just can't afford a professional read, all the time I need one, right now.
Looked a bit into it but with was inconclusive. I want one off line, so it works when I'm writing in Scrivener.
Any tips would be great!!
I am dyslexic. I have my PC read to me. It is easy to setup Text- Speech

Thanks you all for replying. My issue is indeed spelling, get's or gets type thing. So the reading will not apply. I didn't think of fiverr. Lindbergh E Hollingsworth do you have a suggestion of someone you have used and did a good job? Going to loo into this 1 buck a page. Thanks

Vasco, check out grammarly.com. There's a free version and a premium version.

How 'bout an INSERT with VO? It's a movie - make it visual.

In that situation, I like to put it in quotes and use italics for the font style.

Andrea, I see no problem with using quotation marks...whether a character's reading from a book, a letter, or even a TV screen or computer monitor.

if it comes out of character's mouth as dialogue, write it as dialogue. Can start with a quick parenthetical "(reading)" for clarity. But agree w/ Doug N that you don't want this to drag on
