I am an acting coach in Los Angeles and have been working as an actress quite a bit in the last 2 years..{ baby boomer) I see it all myself in my classes too. I teach kids ,teens, and young adults. ie being late, bad behavior, seeking center stage and then disrupting class ,not bringing their scripts back to class to film the scene. You can only hold their hand for so long, then they must set up to the plate! This is a business and we must treat it like one. marketing oneself is so important.Thank-you so much for the excellent advice!! Frances Welter Acting Coach
Frances, Thank You so much for the kind comments! I am TRULY hoping to open some actors' eyes! Onward and Upward and as I always say, 'Stay Fresh!' ;)

Expand commentLove the Mantra "Onward and Upward" and Stay Fresh! My mantra for my students is " Listen and I will guide you" I wanted to clarify that I have been here in Los Angeles since 1980 and have been in SAG for 36 years. Started as a dancer, began studying acting, method and Meisner, have a twin sister which we did a lot of commercial spots together and have been working as actress since. I started working Extra when there was a SEG guild. Ugh long time ago! I agree u can learn the ropes as an extra but then u do have to know when to stop and move onward and upward! Keep advising the up and coming actors means u care a lot! THX again, Frances Welter Acting coach.
Wonderful thoughts, Frances! Perhaps we can meet up when I am back in L.A. sometime. Was just out there four months or so back. :)

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
