About Mark

The director's director. Mark Travis is regaled by Hollywood’s top brass and international film professionals to be the world’s leading authority on the art and craft of film directing. All of his techniques stem from the pursuit of organic authentic performances that are deeply felt by audiences.He is currently on the faculty of HFF (Munich), HSU (Kiev) and has taught at AFI, UCLA, The Binger Institute (Amsterdam), PU (Pixar University), FAS Screen Training Ireland and many other internationally acclaimed institutions and film schools. He has served as directorial and creative consultant to Mark Rydell, George Tillman, Cyrus Nowrasteh, and dozens of Independent filmmakers in Hollywood and internationally. He is respected and recommended by top actors such as Beau Bridges, Henry Winkler and Bill Pullman.

Unique traits: Mark has the rare ability to see deep into characters while reading a script, writing a script or working with and directing actors. The Travis Technique is a radical and revolutionary process that Mark has developed that any director can use to immediately access the characters within the actor and that many actors are using to access the character that lives within them. Mark spends most of his time teaching the Travis Techique to directors around the world.
