About Ilsik

Ilsik Byun received his B.M. in film scoring (Summa Cum Laude) from Berklee College of Music and M.A. in Composition from New York University. He studied classical orchestration, composition and tonal/jazz harmony with noted composers such as John Bavicchi, Richard Davis, and Dinu Ghezzo.

Upon graduation, Ilsik relocated to Los Angeles to pursue film and television scoring full time. Since then, he has participated many post-production projects including indi films, documentaries, national television commercials and radio commercials as a composer and an arranger. He also nominated 2 major awards; LA Webfest Outstanding Score for Comedy and Outstanding Theme Song.

From 2004, Ilsik Byun also started his career as a music professor at Cornel School of Contemporary Music. He is teaching various classes including Jazz Harmony, Orchestration, Music Production, and Film Scoring courses. From 2008, Ilsik serves as an Associate Dean of the School.
