Agents have access to jobs that you will never see on casting websites because they have exclusive rights. Work on building and creating a diverse Showreel that is versatile and shows a wide range that you are able to perform.
I agree with Christopher and Teophiel, i got my agent by doing indie work.

And if you are looking to do something specific, such as action---create your own project suited to your talents. It doubles as a reel and as a project that you can use for your resume as you build up credits to try to get signed by an agency. Trust that the agents will come. They do. Even when it feels like it will never happen, it does. You have to do the work first. Pay your dues.
