Felizia Hunt fka Freedom Speaks (Diaspora) is best known as a writer, performer, and the creator of Wometry™️. However, what she values most is her effortless ability come up with high concept story ideas for TV and Features. As Manager at White Popcorn Productions, LLC, she is a screenwriter and producer, currently focused on stories that share the experiences of BIPOC women and mothers.
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Freedom began her stage training at Bernice Johnson's Cultural Arts Center, in Jamaica NY, at three years old. She has extensive training in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, and African dance. She also choreographed numbers for high school musicals and show choirs.
By 2003, Freedom Speaks was known as one of Atlanta's top spoken word artists, eventually opening for Def Poetry Jam on Broadway at Atlanta's Fox Theatre, appearing on Robert Townsend's "Spoken" on The Black Family Channel, and doing hundreds of performances per year.
In 2018, Freedom was part of Clayton County's Entertainment Workforce Training Program called "We Show Up", where she received training, information, and networking opportunities to become a Production Assistant.
Outside of filmmaking and performing, Freedom writes under several pseudonyms and is the author of three poetry books, two novels, and several business books and home-study programs. Her erotic short stories are published as "Tigress Healy" in books that have stayed on The New York Times Bestseller List for weeks at a time.
When it comes to useless facts, Freedom is a former vegan with vegetarian tendencies, and is fluent in Spanish when lost in Spanish-speaking countries. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Freedom has a B.S. in Behavioral Science with an Emphasis in Community Health.
She is currently seeking representation.
