Most recently Perlman has been making a series of short films for her YouTube channel Seaperl Productions that involve scripting, directing, editing and disseminating. She wrote and directed LAMA a 10-minute short about a woman who believes she can magically cure her tortured husband. Perlman produced and directed 110%, a feature documentary about the US Women’s Ski Jumping Team and their efforts to be included in the 2010 Olympics. It premiered on NRK, Norwegian Television, showed at the 2011 Lake Placid Film Festival. Perlman produced and directed Merchant, a 10-minute visual conversation about immigration. Merchant was completed in 2005 with the help of a Puffin Foundation grant. Perlman produced and directed Ski Jumping in the U.S., a 5-minute short acquired by ESPN and shown in November 2004 as “The Extreme Sport of the Month”. In 2001, Perlman completed a half hour documentary entitled Jane Smith 2000. This portrait of an 89-year-old diva, ex-Hollywood actress is in the collection of Harvard University.
