About Dante

My name is Dante Yore and I am a Director of Photography. I am a huge fan of Hitchcock, and I loved both Shame and Manchester By the Sea. I am a huge Gritty Drama, character driven story DP, but I also have shot several Artistic Suspense/Thriller Feature Films including the last feature I just wrapped titled "Apparition" which starred Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects) and Mena Suvari (American Beauty).

I love films like Moonlight, The Danish Girl, Nocturnal Animal, No country for Old Men, A Place Beyond the Pines, Hell or High Water, Neon Demon, and The Social Network, Demolition, The King's Speech, The Disappearance of Elinor Rigby (him & her), Blue is the Warmest Color, Whiplash, just to name a few in contemporary films.

As for films that led me to this profession I love Casablanca, Vertigo, The Third Man, Citizen Kane, Amelie, The Usual Suspects, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Taxi Driver, Schindler's List, Brick, Memento, Three Colors Blue, just to name a few.

I am an expert at Chiaroscuro. I believe the key to a cinematic looking film is knowing how to blend shadows and light. I do not want to be the Director, I just want to DP, and I leave my ego at home. I believe my shots need to serve the Story and the Characters, and I focus on that on set instead of how cool I can make my shots look.
