Danielle Winston is a writer/director driven by what lurks beneath the surface of characters and their lives. She digs into the minds of her characters to explore their psychological barriers and hidden motivations. From Greenwich Village to Madison Avenue, life in Manhattan affords Winston a wellspring of creative inspiration. Often New York's backdrop becomes a vivid character in her works. Along with Winston's quirky sense of humor, reoccurring elements in her screenplays are artists and hints of the supernatural. Winston’s screenplays have been optioned, developed and produced. She wrote and directed the suspense revenge thriller short, HANDS OF FATE. The story also inspired a dark comedy thriller television series BAD BOYS & GOOD GIRLS. Other screenplays include the contained ghost story about a haunted young actress, SENSE MEMORY, set in a Victorian inn, and LOVE IN REVERSE, a darkly comedic breakup tale told backwards that reveals itself like a mystery of human nature. For children, her fantastical animated series, Betsy Green Bean, is about a little Manhattan witch who teaches children healthy life habits. Winston also works as a freelance writer. Her articles and interviews are regularly published in regional and national magazines.
