Dave then formed his own comedy troupe, "Hauska", in Los Angeles in 1995 to perform at world famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, occasionally at The Ice House in Pasadena, and regularly at The Sacred Grounds coffee house. For a few years in the late 90's Dave took improv and sketch comedy writing classes at The Groundlings Theater and also studied the meisner technique with David Kagen. Moving back up to Utah summer of 1998, Dave is also a charter member of the "Salt Lake cast of The Garrens", "The Skinny Lincolns" and "Salt Lake City chapter of Comedy Sportz". Living on and off ships for over four years, in 2007 Dave received an opportunity to perform educational laser shows for school assemblies and say good-bye to "ship life". After five and a half years of doing school assemblies for thousands of children, Dave returned to school to finish his degree. While back at Brigham Young University, spring of 2013 Dave switched his major from Theater Arts to Elementary Education. During his time back at school he worked part time on campus as the only karaoke host as well as a Arts Bridge Scholar off campus.
