Let me be the first METRO NYC member to welcome you to this amazing fellowship that has served my screenwriting well since I joined and met our fearless leader Richard"RB" Botto(Who I like to call "BENSONHURST" and he calls me "CANARSIE") at a 2015 Tribeca panel discussion on crowd sourcing/crowdfunding. Some suggestions that come from RB himself that will help you. 1)Make your profile page 100% complete. Even down to picking your 10 Desert Island movies. When RB did a survey of Film and TV executives on why they picked a Stage 32 member for a project, It was because they had a complete profile page. It is important for them to know what you can do, But it is just as important to know what you like. 2)Remember this is not Facebook or Twitter or Linked-In. This is a focused social network site on Film, TV, and Stage professionals where connections can be made and deals struck. In that regard if you have a question or topic post a thread in the lounge. 3)As the 3rd generation of a New York Show Business family I know how important it is to network. In that regard there is usually a Meet-Up every few months in the METRO NYC area where you can get some "off line" face time in. And if the mood strikes. Start your own meet-up. 4) Have fun here. Engage, don't be a broadcaster and just pitch what you have done. If you see an interesting article share it. This community is about engagement. And the more we do to share our experiences, strengths and hopes with the rest of the industry the stronger we will be as a force and the more success stories we will all have.
Just in closing I would like to say that at Age 62 (3 years ago) when I started scribbling my first screenplay on memo pads I did not have a clue. I only new I had a great true story to tell. I can now say that with the love and support of the staff and fellow members of Stage 32 I have (3) copyrighted screenplays in my CELTX file. I have a growing 'working Network of 41 Metro NYC/DUTCH Stage 32 creatives. And have been able to raise some seed $$ from (2) INDIEGOGO FILM crowdfunding campaigns that will see (2) of my screenplays later this year at table reads. I urge you to complete your profile page ASAP. It is the most important page on Stage32. I hope you take these suggestions in the manner they were intended: One member helping another member.
Yours Truly,
Steven Harris Anzelowitz

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB
