Ed Blount

My name is Edward Blount. I am a buisnessman in Virginia. I am selling some of my businesses and plan to retire from my current businesses and start making movies in my home town of Lake Anna Virginia. Through the years I have dabbled in marketing videos and have published many magazines that I had to write ,edit and all stages of publishing (along with a small team of people). I have studied extensively the processes in filmmaking as a hobby. I am always writing a story, book or script. I own a lot of waterfront land and developments that could be used for locations. I really would like to bring artististic opportunities to my area. I have been a ill and book lover my entire life. In my younger life I lived on a farm where the electric power would fail on a regular basis. Our family would play instruments and sing, or simply tell stories in the dark to pass the time. Generally scary or supernatural stories of old myths and local lore. I am disappointed in movies that I see. Very few original thoughts. Most horror films are poorly written and acting ad script is probably very difficult. I assume that the business model of the genre makes it difficult to make great horror because of the budget/time restrictions. I also believe that there may be an attitude that says "that's good enough, it's horror, it doesn't have to make sense" because most are really bad. I believe we can do better. Maybe with bigger budgets and longer shoots. I hope to start shooting my first movie by September of 2018. I want to offer opportunity to anyone that can make it to our area and participate.
