About Monica

Monica is a Houston-based filmmaker, actress, writer and host of her own talk show. She has always loved the creative side of life. At a young age, Monica excelled in ballet, tap and playing the viola. She graduated from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston and went on to work in corporate America for many years as an Escrow Officer. When she took an acting class several years back, it re-sparked the fire within her to create. She delved deep into the film world, crewing on sets of local feature films. She later starred as the lead in two short films, “Eva” and “Lucky Now,” both in which she helped produce. Most recently, you can find her chopping it up on her IG Live talk show, Monica on the Mic, with interesting guests, including civil rights activists, musicians, actors and comedians. Look for the newest episodes @Monica_on_the_Mic on IG and eventually in NYC, where she plans to take over the Big Apple and carve her name in lights.
