About Goran

My approach as a qualified Screenwriting Lecturer and Filmmaker focuses on free-flowing authentic storytelling. In my experience, this is highly desired in the modern world, yet rarely considered in traditional screen and media schools.

When I was lecturing at an international film and acting college in Australia, I saw how the formal education system was repressing individual creative expansion and lacking encouragement. Students who wanted to fly their freak flags were often overshadowed by rules and formulas.

Much of my creative energy, time, and money has been used in researching and practicing the truth about the screenwriting marketplace, so I can better inform my ongoing students, and our clients at Gothic Zen® Studios, of best practices.

I've placed myself in the hot seat of learning by connecting with industry peers and professionals, have been involved with important government initiatives to support filmmakers, had guest spots on radio and podcasts, and even sat on a panel at two Comic Con festivals to highlight the importance of mental health and creative freedom.

Unique traits: My raw and honest approach to life and art form part of my authentic storytelling experience and teaching methods. I tend to inject unsettling realities and themes into my literature and screenplays, but this is my authentic style and I've learned that authenticity is the key to connecting with readers and viewers.
