About Ian

I am a freelance director and producer, with experience in all aspects of production, development, distribution and financial management. I also have a unique perspective in the projects I work on, having worked for several years in the Not For Profit sector. My passion is creating screen media that will make a difference in our world.

I have also directed several documentaries, and many corporate and commercial films over many years, as well as having experience with social media and fundraising for charities.

I am currently developing several film and TV projects, mainly as a director. My last film, Humble Hope, a feature documentary, has won several US awards, and was nominated for best feature doc & best director at the Southampton International Film Festival in the UK. It also came 3rd in the ReelHeart Festival in Toronto. It has also been selected as a finalist in the Singapore Independent Film Festival.

I am a member of AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema Television and the Arts).

Earlier this year I co-directed a 2 x 52 minute series called "How can it Be", a reality Documentary on Mental Health and DNA. It aired on Qantas airlines domestic and international

I am very much available as a freelance director on film, TV, or corporate presentations.

I am looking for the right short films to Direct, and also the feature film...also I am developing a couple of feature documentary, one about modern slavery and another around bullying, for which I am looking for support. As I say to people I feel like a 30 year old in a 50 yo body just starting my career!
