Michael Olson

This is not so much about what I've done as it is what I know. I've worked as a sound mixer or boom op for more than a decade, so I see what directors do and ask for. I see and learn what the camera ops and DPs are looking for. I hear what office personnel and producers need, editors need. I pay attention. I ask questions. I learn so I can move forward into something else when sound is not for me anymore. Or for when I'm ready for the next step.

In the meantime, I've produced directed edited enough short dramas and docs to be equivalent to a feature film. By extension, I also coordinated all those, managed those and paid for those in money and sweat. I won some awards and accolades, received recognition from here and way over there. People like my stuff. Some of it is teaching them something; a lot of it is for my learning.

I wrote about 900 pages of script in four movies and a two series (first seasons). I've developed four documentaries; two are courting financing, one is finished. One is on the back burner. It is time to be taken seriously for what I've done and am doing. The scripts can be optioned or I'm developing them into shows because I can. Five of the bunch are being pitched.

I get things done.

The other thing is that I know what my weaknesses are so I know how I need to grow. I can create the content but when it comes to financing, an exec can help greatly and that's where I'm at. I have enough material for a few years of production.
