Originally an English teacher from Barbados, Petula immigrated to the US and recently became a citizen, sadly losing her awkwardly cool ‘alien’ status. She has the honor of being a 2024 Writers League of Texas Fellow and has earned significant mentorships and screenwriting accolades from numerous contests including the Austin Film Festival. Her writing is influenced by her experiences as a Black female immigrant and is often gamified due to her work creating games for AR and VR. Once upon a time, she was even in a reggae band.
