Chars Bonin was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Blaine, Minnesota. Coming from a family of entertainers Chars fell into singing and acting early. He and his brother & sisters were annual music performers at the St. Patrick’s Day Shows at Ascension Catholic Church in North Minneapolis. The Bonin kids also performed at the Minnesota State Fair talent show in 1980 when Chars was 9.
Chars has a B.A. from Minnesota State University- Moorhead in Television & Film Directing where he was on scholarship as a sprinter for Track & Field. Having moved to Hollywood to pursue acting in 1998, Chars has settled back to Minnesota to raise his family. He and his wife Sarah have four boys (12, 10, 6 and 4) and are intent on exposing them to athletics and the arts along with their scholastics and spiritual education to become productive and kind men.
Chars has written 7 Feature Length Screenplays, producing and directing one of them himself. It is distributed through Amazon Streaming Services including Amazon Prime.
