About Toby

University administrator and elder abuse awareness advocate turns to screenwriting with a social justice mission

I currently live in the Washington, DC metro area, but originally from Southern NJ. Curiosity and drive have been key factors for keeping me on a non-linear path in life. That is what brought me to Stage 32 in 2019. I had a story to tell but could hardly define how a screenwriter brings a film/series to life.

Since that time, I have been learning as much as I can through Stage 32's many resources. And I am now determined to become a credited screenwriter to educate others on subtle signs of elder abuse. Elder abuse is a worldwide issue, where persons aged 65+ are mistreated through neglect of care, isolated from friends and family, drained of money, and/or emotionally/physically tormented.

The main screenplay that I'm working on has 3 overarching goals, 1) be a drama/psychological thriller feature based loosely on real life events, 2) make the storyline memorable and captivating, and 3) educate on elder abuse's ripple effects to families and individuals.

I'm happy to help to connect and brainstorm ideas on your projects!
