Darryl Conover loves to be an entertainer. He is best at telling stories with a comedic flair. He uses his knowledge of movies and television shows to compile ideas or to inspire new ones. Being prepared for when the opportunity arrives is going to be the ticket into this industry. He spends his time researching how the industry works, as well as, how it doesn't work. Working as an actor in short films, he has gained experience in how scripts can be clearer for the actors and directors. He has written several short films and feature-length scripts. He's working on 3 more scripts this year (see Loglines).
Currently, he finished writing a feature-length screenplay, called "Path of a Dragon" which he's fielding to be made. He was inspired to write an action movie with heart to motivate his stepson who thinks, like most high schoolers, that hard work isn't leading to anything meaningful. The movie hopes to show that no one knows their true destiny until it happens, maybe their dreams are real or maybe they aren't (which is also ok). It will show how being prepared is better than not being prepared. That life is hard but friends and family can help. In the coming months, Darryl hopes that he, himself, is prepared enough for Hollywood in order to make this movie come true. Prove to his stepson, hard work, and little luck can lead to a meaningful change in life.
During the day, he works as a Structure Design Engineer; a designer in the aerospace industry for over 10 years. This has given him the focus for details, ensure proper assembly, and being integration oriented. When designing, he shapes the product with care, making sure to add or not add features that will help finalize the end item. Of course, this all can relate to sympathy/empathy in stories and world-building. Like flying, you can trust him to bring you up, with the fears and joys of the ride, and it's up to this screenwriter to ensure you get back down safe and in a new place. I say, "Take me somewhere new, and convince me it's real."
To be continued...
