From there, I was hooked and have since wri...

Could this generation get a new film experience?

This article makes me feel extremely hopeful for the future of film. I firmly believe that in order to be a great storyteller in the medium of film, you need to know what it's like to shoot on film. You need to hear the film stock running though the camera. You need to know the pressure of being nea...

It takes lots and lots and lot of hours writing and re writing in a quite room.

read scripts and learn the format. I use the Final Draft 9 software to format my scripts. It is the industry standard. I also watch film and study them. Watch films that are in the same category that you would like to write. Though use you're own ideas.

Rewrites and changes to your script after it's been sold.

So let’s say you sell your script. After you do your own unique “happy dance” the studio says they want some changes. How does that work? Do you get paid more for the requested rewrite? Or is it considered part of the selling price that you’re obligated to rewrites. Maybe it’s stipulated in the sales contract? How does it work?

Ron Brassfield

My thinking for writers is that they try to model their agreements with producers after the fashion of the WGA Basic minimums, except leaving out the exact amounts of money from those agreements. Sinc...

Rick, your questions would be addressed in the contract. As part of the negotiations with the producer you work out what you would do and how you would get paid.
