Expand commentHello Amy, Your post is four months old but it still is relevant for the community, and gives me a change to shout out praises to my mentor, screenwriter and director Doug Atchison. My phone conversation was the best hour of advice and support for my creative life ever. Doug had read the required one-page biography I had submitted and was well aware of my writing credits when he called. From there he went on to discuss which of my projects I should focus on and how I should be assertive in contacting industry professionals, submit to contests, put a specialized biography together as a marketing tool, and most importantly he would be interested in seeing my rewritten screenplay when I completed it. How much more do you want from a mentor? Finally, it's exceedingly useful for all of us to hear from those who have reached a certain level of success that it was a long process requiring tremendous self-confidence and patience. It's not going to be easy for anyone. After our call, I immediately applied for a 90-second video pitch contest and started working on my pitch.
I posted an introducing myself post a few minuts ago but now can't find it. Hopefully it was published and this is just a second--meaning I don't have to go back and re-post the first (?)

The link was to a website not a social post - just saying.
Plus people splinter their persona. I am Craig D Griffiths everywhere, here, reddit, amazon, Google, IMDB, Instagram.....

Social media aids in promoting oneself for sure and I would say that time is well spent.
Very true about Fresh Prince, Dan!
Thanks, interesting article.
Just secured attendance at BAFTA hosted masterclass by this guy...https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0416694/
If it weren't for social media possibilities, I've woulda only dream of this :)
