About Richard
A Montreal native based in Los Angeles, Richard Zelniker is an award winning writer and director. He has worked in the US and Canada, on genre films, long form and short form and is known for discovering many "up and coming" actors who have become bankable young stars. His film, The Vortex, stars Billy Gardell, Jaina Lee Ortiz and Jamie McShane, with Emily Alabi, and is being distributed by Synkronized Distribution. A television version of the theatrical film is in development. Richard writes alongside Callie Nguygen Zelniker, his writing partner and wife, and they are currently taking meetings on a host of projects including; the music-driven project, B-Side; a genre thriller, BFF. More Zap Productions & Management LLC, Zelniker's talent & literary management firm, has also put together a team including screenwriter, Colette Freedman, where Richard will direct Colette's screenplay, Rose-Marie's Baby Shower. Richard Zelniker's list of awards include Tokyo International Film Festival, Toronto Film Channel, and the Venice Short Film Festival, to name a few.
