Viviana Zuñiga

Viviana Zuñiga Rojas is a filmmaker from Veracruz MEXICO, winner of the EFD full scholarship to study film and digital postproduction at SAE Institute. While doing an artistic stay in Spain, she won the Bobinas del Jurado Award for Best Short Film at the IV International Film and Environment Festival 2011 ECOZINE Zaragoza, Spain for her short film “Yvy Piaú” and in 2010 the documentary “San Cristóbal de las Casas : Ethnic Urbanity” where she worked as the screenwriter, won Best Documentary Production and Best Documentary Director's Choice at the 1st International Documentary Festival in Spanish at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas, USA. Her latest documentary “Here, we are” was the official selection of the 16th Morelia International Film Festival, Sheffield Doc / Fest 2019 and the Raindance Film Festival 2019. Viviana is also a musician in traditional music “Son Jarocho” and she currently works as a producer and director in projects of documentary and fiction genre in Mexico City. Her thematic axes are female empowerment, identity based on rituals and ethnomusicology.
