I started my writing career as a television news journalist but always had the desire to write fiction. I thought I would just write novels but, for one idea, I thought it would be better told as a screenplay. And thus, my love of screenwriting was born. I particularly enjoy fictionalizing stories inspired by true events and real people. My first screenplay, GREENWOOD, based on the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, won the 2020 Dallas International Film Festival's screenplay contest. My current project, OPERATION CONDOR, a historical drama/thriller set in Chile and Washington, DC, won the 2023 Big Apple Film Festival's screenplay competition in the Historical Series category.
GREENWOOD Budget: $10M - $30M | Historical ⋄ Drama Based on a true story, a 1920's African-American lawyer takes on the system to defend the residents of Greenwood, the all-black district of Tulsa, Oklahoma, when it's destroyed by an angry white mob.
OPERATION CONDOR Historical ⋄ Drama Inspired by true events, an assassination of a former Chilean diplomat on U.S. soil leads the widow, a CIA officer, and an FBI agent to risk their lives to uncover the insidious truth behind the 1970s murder.
