I'm a retired physician, now living in Nova Scotia and free to devote much more time to my writing. Co-writer and associate producer of Decoding Annie Parker, starring Helen Hunt, Samantha Morton and Aaron Paul. This film was about the discovery of the BRCA gene and how that impacted a friend of mine. One of my previous scripts, the true story of the last Allied soldier killed in WW1, was a top ten finalist in two large international competitions. I'm drawn to true life stories, especially those of historical significance. My most recent script relates the true story of a brave and colorful British aristocrat who saved countless lives as a civilian agent in WW2. My late father worked alone with him once (to defuse a bomb during the London Blitz) so I have a personal connection to this particular project. I've also published my father's war memoirs, titled: Mines, Bombs, Bullets and Bridges. This is illustrated with dozens of his restored sketches plus contemporary photographs from my research trips to follow his footsteps across Europe to those once dangerous places.
