I'm Mohammad Forouzani (my writer name Martin Foroz), an Iranian writer currently living in Oman as an expatriate English Language and Literature professor with a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature. I have written four stage plays that are on simultaneous submissions to contests and theater houses and am writing my fifth play on an AI theme. I'm also also a frequent contributor to Substack with comparative essays and critiques on plays and films. I'm currently seeking producers for my feature spy-thriller ALIYAH. It has so far achieved some awards in international film and screenplay festivals- see my Awards.
Prior to my focused screen and stage writing, I published several English poems in literary magazines, authored three poetry collections titled “Inside Out” (Olympia Publishers, UK, 2017), “Out Inside” (Austin Macauley Publishers, UK, 2019), “A Louvre of Verse” (Beckham Publishing House, US, 2020), and completed three novels one of which, “The Path,” is on multiple submissions and the other two are in editing process. Some of my short poems and one of my verse dramas “The Confessing Song of Mr. Head” in video format are available on my YouTube page. My imagist poem “To My Reader” was also performed on stage by the Iran-Germany Theater Group in Nürenberg in August 2023.
In addition to my English works, I have published a collection of Persian short stories titled “Khateraat-e Ravi” (The Narrator’s Memories) (Forough Book, Köln, 2022) and authored a collection of 6 Persian plays on social themes. This collection is under review for publication.
Besides my literary works, I have published articles, books, and book chapters in language studies, and my most prominent publication in the area of language and linguistics is "An Illustrative Dictionary of Semantics (ILLUDS)" first published in 2019 and republished in 2023 by Austin Macauley, US.
Unique traits: Not necessarily unique, but my stories are created when I sit to type- with no plans- and/or while I'm asleep.
