About Rick

My electrical engineering degree didn't seem a good fit for a future in writing, but my novel, The Rebirth of Nicodemus, won a 'Novel of the Year' award in 2019. This work about the sack of the Temple in Jerusalem by the Romans follows the Pharisee Nicodemus and Apostle John as they strive to save Nicodemus' family and find meaning and forgiveness through this catastrophe. The book has now been adopted into a feature length screenplay, 'Rebirth'.

My latest feature, Consent, follows the journey of a single mother/reporter who confronts an international group of pedophiles who have stolen her daughter.

I also played football in the Big Ten and developed a new TV Pilot called 'The Second Stringers'. This show revolves around a professor who loses his company to foreign espionage and then teams with a rogue FBI agent and a team of second-string athletes to battle against foreign attempts on campus to steal other technologies. This pilot received a Stage 32 recommend/consider.

I also have just received a Stage 32 recommend/recommend for my new pilot, Angels in Blue. This series tells the real-life story of a group of brave women who came to the wilds of Indiana in 1840 from France to establish the first college for women in America. The foundress was later canonized as a saint, which we see through the eyes of young women in the 1980s who attend the college.
