My Background: Originally from Riverdale, NY after graduating from Syracuse University with a BFA in theatre arts I found myself working in TV news as a photojournalist and editor. What started out as a part-time job doing something I had never done before or really had any interest in has turned into an almost 20 year career that has taken me from the Bronx to Macon, Georgia, Los Angeles and now the west coast of Florida. During this time I have worked in many development, pre-production, production and post-production aspects of film, television and video primarily as a photojournalist/camera-op, producer, director, screen/copywriter, grip/electric and editor.
What I Do: All of the above sometimes independently or in some combination and if I can’t do it, I will find the best person who can. My ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ background gives me a unique and positive perspective and skill-set: I have the ability to effectively address the needs of the many aspects associated with any production as well as the technical and communication skills needed to either do them or to help make them all gel.
In addition to these skills, I am also very much aware of the increasing need to integrate ones product with multi-platform marketing strategies and have become well versed in the ways to make that happen.
What I Am Best At: Conceptualization and hands-on development and production of original content for live, scripted and unscripted television, film, video and web based content;
Business and Creative Development based on current and future trends in multimedia; the integration of both;
Working within all budgets. The majority of projects I have worked on most recently have had extremely low budgets and very tight turn-a-rounds. I was the Producer, Shooter and Editor and the final results always exceeded the client’s expectations. My hope is that one can extrapolate from this what I’d be able to accomplish if given a budget and crew.
What I Strive For: Quality and for the client to be happier with the final product than they ever imagined they would be regardless of the budget or size of the crew.
