Brian Paul Brawdy began his acting career as a NY Undercover Police Criminal Investigator soon after the debut of Michael Mann's Miami Vice. "I was drawn to it in a visceral way." Because "Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How" of any investigation is taught Day 1 in "Kindergarten for Cops," he quickly became a writer as well. "Slug lines" are the way of doing business when it comes to any testimony. It's all about gathering evidence, compiling a compelling backstory, and "closing" a Grand Jury / Criminal Trial by placing devastatingly clear pictures in people's minds. As Brian sees it, "If your words don't strike a chord in their guts, all you got is noise!" Much later, as a TV reporter for CBS Chicago, he employed the very same tactics, live or taped. Now as a full-time storyteller, it all dovetails. Screenplays, public speeches, TV commercials, show stories, news reports, tag lines, slogans, jingles, aphorisms, it's all a shot at writing/performing "copy that closes."
