About Russell
Russell has just returned to the UK from a week long trip to Las Vegas and Arizona where he picked up the best feature screenplay award for 'Horizon Calling' at the Sedona International Film Festival. Horizon Calling is a drama/action/adventure story which has won four awards and placed in many other competitions.
He has also written a TV pilot and short demonstrating his ability to create character driven and gritty London crime thrillers. The pilot, 'King of the Old Smoke' won best screenplay at the London Lift Off festival where it has been labelled as 'one to watch', and also came runner up at Sedona this year. Early BlueCat screenplay competition feedback states "King is an incredibly well-realized and nuanced protagonist whose storyline cannot be described as anything but brilliant."
All three screenplays have received a RECOMMEND and awarded screenplay of the month at a popular LA screenplay coverage service.
Russell's experience mixing with talented film makers whilst at Sedona has inspired him to write more and push harder.
