Jaclyn Lopez is a SAG actor and writer originally from Mission, Texas. At the age of six after watching “Calamity Jane” with Doris Day, Jaclyn found her calling-working in the film industry. Not only was she a Division 1 athlete, she double majored in Communication and Cultural Studies and earned her BA at Centenary College of Louisiana. During college, she gained professional first hand experience working behind the scenes of several feature films and television series. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Jaclyn booked a major recurring role that currently airs on HULU.
Her passion for acting has only increased her ambition to create and write historical and untold true stories. When she was 6, she developed an interest in Egyptology her father (a history major) told her stories and theories about ancient Egypt. This interest would expand to include subjects from ancient history to World War II. The story of Nefertiti began developing in her mind as a teenager when she would watch documentaries, tv shows, and read books by Dr. Zahi Hawass and other Egyptologists. Currently, Jaclyn has written and created her first television series, “Nefertiti”, which has garnered attention since winning awards at several top script competitions. She has since finished her second pilot and first feature film- both of which are based on historical true stories.
