Jamila J. Brown is a screenwriter, director and producer from Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a degree in communications and creative writing from Manhattanville College. Jamila has always had a passion for telling stories, however It wasn't until her senior year when she won a screenwriting award that she knew filmmaking was a world she needed to be a part of. In 2014 she made her first debut as a director, writer, and producer in GoFish, a short film inspired by her neighborhood. "NYC the Movie" starring recording artist Troy Ave, is her second independent film. Jamila continues to perfect her craft as a filmmaker, developing projects for this late fall and summer of 2017.
