Hello Collective! This is me……..I’m passionate about writing, which comes through me, not from me. My feature length biopic drama, received a ‘Recommend’ both internationally and in SA. As an Independent Producer I am close to production stage with final funding pending. My feature pilot completed in the magnificent genre of Supernatural Realism, African and Indian Mysticism also received a ‘Recommend’ locally and internationally. With funding I hope to complete the series. I was the first Independent Producer to complete a film in SA with an All Black Crew. The Buddy Movie had its run on local cinema and satellite tv. The film is now being studied by the University of Cape Town’s film students.
The crazy thing is, I studied law and went into marketing. Achieved a top position as Marketing Manager for my City in SA. I have achieved my Masters in Business from the Netherlands and I am a NUFFIC Fellow. Hence being an Independent Producer, the business of film comes naturally. Although it’s extremely challenging. This is especially true in SA, where the structures are still developing and are very slow. I began writing and producing in non-fiction for broadcast television.
I am co-founder and business owner of East Coast Media / Movietech. A multi-faceted production company that also gives a voice to the voiceless. Our channel OpenAirTV provides exposure and a platform to the Disability Sector.
When we go up we don’t go alone. In order to address the severe gap left by the Apartheid regime, we have an accredited media training company. We train young South Africans from the disadvantaged sector both urban and rural. To date we have over 140 unique short films from all regions and cultures of SA. Some have gone on to win international awards. Watch for these filmmakers, they are the future!
For my work in industry development and redress I was twice nominated ‘SA Woman of the Year’ and won the ‘Cosmopolitan’s Awesome Woman Award’.
Now, my voice needs to spread beyond these borders and I cannot do it alone. I call on the oneness of this collective to assist the divinity of the feminine in all of its diversity, strength, destruction, lushness, gentleness and power and let it shine. Let’s share in the abundance.
