Zenobia made her professional stage debut in the first-ever Afrikaans musical drama, “Antjie Somers” (2000), based on local folklore. Her critically-acclaimed roots-inspired play, “Klarabelle gaan Kaap toe” / “Klarabelle goes to the Cape” (2002), made history at the Artscape Theatre Centre “with the staging of the first Khoi play in Afrikaans”.

She went on to earn Best Performance nominations for the prestigious Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards (2006) and Naledi Theatre Awards (2006) for creating the role of Dina in the award-winning Kramer/Peterson musical, “Ghoema” (“Spice Drum Beat: Ghoema”) that told the story of slavery at the Cape of Good Hope.
