About Dave

Dave Chan is an award-winning writer/producer from Brooklyn, NY. His scripts and films have either won or placed in dozens of competitions worldwide including Austin Film Festival and the Academy Award-qualifying HollyShorts and Nashville Film Festival.

Dave recently produced "A Father's Son" a proof-of-concept for a series starring Ronny Chieng (Shang-Chi) and Tzi Ma (Mulan). He is a co-writer/co-producer of "Sure-Fire" a feature crime-comedy currently in development about a NYC con man struggling with his midlife crisis. He is also producing his personal documentary "The Secret of B" that chronicles the search for his birth parents in Hong Kong after finding out he was adopted, a well-guarded family secret.

Dave is a candidate for an MFA in TV Writing at Stony Brook University where he also teaches undergraduate Screenwriting and Film/TV Composition. This is a graduate program in partnership with Killer Films, led by Artistic Director and veteran producer Christine Vachon.
