About Suzanne

Suzanne Moreau believes creative self-expression is a fingerprint of the soul.
She creates visual stories through the female gaze as a writer, director, producer and production designer of independent film. Her goal is to amplify the voices of women and girls and bring about a more equitable and just society. Her use of humour in dramatic stories about women's empowerment to reach their full potential, helps to expose the fallacy of gender-based thinking.
Suzanne's screenplays and films have garnered recognition and awards since she began creating in the art form in 2018. "Ginny's Enterprise" script was a finalist in New York Women, Paris, and Vancouver International Film Festivals, a semi- finalist in Vienna, and selected in Toronto Women and Montreal Indie Festivals. "Bagg-age" script won "Best New Screenwriter" from LA Festigious International Film Festival in 2021. "Blood Buddies" script was a screenplay finalist in CineSpark, Pacific Rim Short Circuit Festival (2021), and is now her directorial debut film and a semi-finalist in London Indie Shorts Festival, and selected at Florence and Cannes Cinema International Festivals. CineVic screened her first time camera-operator, micro-short "Ersatz Cats" (2021) at their One-Take Super8 Event, and at the Victoria Film Festival (2022), and at Short Circuit Pacific Rim Festival in May 2022.
Suzanne's films are a synergy of her BFA in visual art, decades of photography and performing arts practice, stage and film acting and filmmaking mentorship; all grounded in her public service to BC, Canada. Her work in community and criminal justice and education policy and programs contributed towards a more just and equitable society in areas including relationship violence, dangerous offenders, Aboriginal education, and Gender Equity - all of which forms a foundation to her artistic expression in narrative fiction.
