Raised in California with extensive time spent working in Europe, Ms. Mackenzie is an LA and London based writer/director/producer, repped by United Agents in London. Before launching into writing full time, Ms. Mackenzie was a senior creative and development executive at Sony Pictures in Los Angeles where she wrote, developed, set up, and sold film and television projects to many major studios. She also held an In-House Producing deal at 20th Century Fox at Davis Entertainment and worked in Paris for Lionsgate/Gaumont on 13 episodes on their hit supernatural series, "The Highlander." Ms. Mackenzie began her writing career as a journalist at the Wall Street Journal in New York and then Condé Nast in London. Switching to television, she became an investigative journalist for CNN, CBS and ABC covering stories all across Europe, Africa and Asia, and directing/producing long-form feature documentaries. A dual US/UK citizen, Ms. Mackenzie is passionate about creating thought-provoking, high production value, stories and content for a global audience. She currently has several film and television series projects in development with larger production companies and directors, and/ or co-funded by European financiers. Fiona received her B.A. in Economics from U.C. Berkeley and her Master's Degree from Georgetown University's Graduate School of Foreign Service. She has worked in many aspects of physical production and is a savvy and collaborative writing and production partner in every sense of the word.
Unique traits: I have written, developed, directed and produced television and films in Europe, Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America. I'm a dual US/UK citizen, and launched my first production company in Paris. I love working and collaborating internationally, and often set my stories outside of the US, but with US / UK protanists. I also very much like to write for female leads or co-leads, and at times stories that have a certain relevance to actual events. My writing includes thrillers, action, horror, romantic comedies and historical.
