Jonathan produced live specials and episodic television in Canada and the United States before making his first film, “My Father and The Man In Black (2012),” about the unlikely, rocky relationship between Johnny Cash and his manager, Saul Holiff.
"My Father and The Man In Black" was released in theatres in the United Kingdom and in the United States, and on television around the world. An intimate expose, the movie featured audio diaries and recorded telephone conversations with Cash. The film, which The New York Times called “complex and haunting,” won nine film festival competitions, including Edinburgh and Hamburg.
Currently, Jonathan is filming the feature documentary, "When Johnny Cash Got His Moose," about the extraordinary 1961 moose hunt and concert tour that reinvigorated Johnny Cash’s career and put him with June Carter.
Synopsis:
How a 1961 moose hunt led Johnny Cash to June Carter. Newly-discovered photos and interviews tell the story of the extraordinary Canadian moose hunt and concert tour that reinvigorated Johnny Cash’s career and put him on the path to superstardom.
