About Ashley

Born in Kingston, Jamaica. Ashley Hemmings came to the states in his early teens. Going to middle school and then high school, he graduated in the year 2000 and joined the United State Navy. Ashley Hemmings would serve for 4 years during the war against terrorism. He would serve in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the Navy, he would attend the Art Institute and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Animation. Unable to attain an entry-level position as an animator, Ashley became a graphic designer. But he was not too fond of the 9 to 5 system, Ashley felt more like an office drone. So, when he got released from employment due to the company downsizing to save money. Ashley decided to take a different path. Ashley Hemmings had a lot of imagination, which is why he tried to become an animator. In 2012, Ashley Hemmings began writing novels. Before he began, Ashley read books on how to be an author and writing techniques. Using Amazon’s self-publishing software, Ashley published his first book on Amazon. But his goal is to publish his book with a publishing company. Because he believes he will get a better experience with that method.
During Ashley’s high school days, he became part of a young man’s development theatre performance. Going to rehearsals and performing on stage. Ashley enjoyed it, he had a lot of fun. Years later in the 2000s, Ashley met Kahra Keyes, an up and coming artist, singer, songwriter, and actress. Kahra asked Ashley to be a part of her music video called Party Police. This was Ashley’s first time performing as a background extra. Ashley had a lot of fun being in the video, and he was motivated seeing Kahra work so hard for something she enjoys doing. So, Ashley made the decision to become an actor. Fortunately for him, he works part-time at an art gallery called Artserve. A nonprofit organizations that help promote and support artists in painting, dancing, music, and acting. One day Ashley met Sarahi Diaz. She is an actress, acting coach, and writer. Sarahi gave Ashley the confidence to pursue an acting career full time. Ashley has taken acting classes with Sarahi Diaz, Sara Rogers, and Holly Caputo. From 2018 to 2019 he has appeared as background extra in two movies, he has had roles in indie films, and has performed in theatre. One day Ashley Hemmings hopes to perform on the big screen, until then. He just keeps honing his skills and learning, because it’s a lot of fun.
