About Frederic

I am French-Canadian from Quebec City and I have two Bachelor Degrees (Public Communication and Graphic Communication) and a Certificate in Cinema from Université Laval in Canada. I also have a College Degree in Literature (from a French college in Dublin, Ireland) and another College Degree in Literature from Canada.

I conceived and wrote BEYOND THE FOREST, a feature-length, teen-driven horror/fantasy screenplay which was honored with the Rising Star Award at the Canada International Film Festival in Vancouver and was a semi-finalist for Best Screenplay in the "Los Angeles Screenplay Festival". I was also a quarterfinalist at the 6th "Sci-fi/Fantasy Screenwriting Contest", at the "Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition" and at the "Filmatic Horror Screenplay Awards" in Los Angeles.

My script could be described as a mix between "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and a fairy tale with a nod to Greek mythology. Judges from two contests said that the villain in my script "could become an iconic horror monster just like Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees" and that my story "has the workings of a classic".

In addition to screenwriting, I am a published novelist with my suspense/thriller book, BLEEDING HEART, published in France in 2012, and I won Best Story in the Critere ("Criterion") Prize competition with my original story, HER HIGHNESS OF HORRORS, published in Canada in 1992.

I worked for many years as a translator (English to French) for renowned American companies and I now work as a proofreader for the Quebec government in Montreal (Canada) while waiting to make it as a screenwriter. In the meantime, I would love to live in Los Angeles and work in a studio or a movie-related company.

Unique traits: I have a lot of imagination and a great sense of humour. :)
