I am an early stage writer/actor/producer writing a short script for this autumn's (Deadline Oct 2021) BFI short film fund. The film would provide an unfiltered (and yet untold, as I have identified) perspective of a chance encounter between a BAME gay man and a straight man. I am in discussions with early stage LGBTQ+ co-writer/Directors for potential collaborations.

I was hoping to find out if anyone here had applied for and secured this fund in the past. Any advice and tips would be helpful.

If there are LGBTQ+ writers who would want to team up, I'd be more than happy to discuss more.

I am also looking to network with producers for alternative means of financing the short alongside grants. So, again, all relevant interests are more than welcome.

I've just discovered Stage 32 and am keen to network with other like-minded professionals. I am an actor, writer and Director based in the UK and have been working in the UK and India over the last few years.

As an introduction to what I have made so far, I have posted the trailer of my lartest short, Likemare (check in videos). It is in festivals at the moment.
