Originally I went to school for the sciences, and although I completed my degree, the clearest thing to come from my schooling was the indisputable fact that I wanted to be a writer.
I spent the next part of my life obtaining two degrees in creative writing, where I met my writers group, and honed my skills in prose. I wrote two books, which I am still editing, and entered several contests where I found some success, and had my first fiction publication in an anthology. I went on to join, and later run, the non-profit Genre group for the Vocamus Writers' community. Although I adore novel and short story writing, I could never deny my love of cinema, and the inherently cinematic way that I wrote my books. So I decided to venture into screenwriting.
Currently, I am a student at Toronto Film School for their Writing for Film and TV program. I have found my place and found my people, and I have been diving into my education even further by attending webinars, reading books, watching interviews- whatever I can get my hands on to learn more about filmmaking.
I enjoy writing fantasy, science fiction, and horror. I love to create new and different worlds, but always grounded by relatable characters. I am looking for my first opportunity in the industry, and would love to network or chat with anyone from any filmmaking field!
