Juliana Soares Thimoteo

I am a storyteller, passionate about creating compelling stories that can make a change in the world.
I started my career in this field in 2007, working as a production assistant and junior writer for a small company specialized in branded content and advertisement. After a brief break where I moved to another state, had some housewife experience, made some awesome friends, got married and moved back to my hometown, I resumed my studies in screenwriting and met this amazing friend who introduced me to Gullane. There I started as an intern, worked in the production of a film titled 'The Violin's Teacher' by renowned director Sergio Machado. As a result, I ended up as an executive assistant for producer Caio Gullane who taught me a lot about the brazilian market and gave me valuable production knowledge. In 2014, I was invited to run the Development department at Gullane. There, I effectively started using my screenwriting knowledge to select new projects and to give notes for the ones already in development. During this time, I participated of great projects such as Oscar's shortlist's 'The Second Mother' by Anna Muylaert; 'Like Our Parents' by Lais Bodanzky; 'Bingo - King of the Mornings' by Daniel Rezende and 'Abe' by Fernando Andrade. In 2017, I fell in love with TV shows and had the opportunity to participate in the creative process of some successful ones like 'Unidade Básica' (Universal Channel) in which I got to be a writing collaborator for 2 seasons; 'HARD' (HBO); International Emmy's winner 'Ninguém Tá Olhando'. During this time, I also wrote a feature film entitled '4x100' by Tomás Portella and created a TV show to be produced by Gullane for HBOMax.
